Unique Features Gluing a delicate knit to a polyurethane film creates a very soft-to-the-touch and quiet waterproof barrier. This barrier forms the backing of the mattress protector, making it completely waterproof. The polyurethane film is defined as a breathable membrane, which allows our body's perspiration to escape, a process referred to as water vapor transmission. The microscopic pores prevent the penetration of liquids but interconnected pores allow transmission of these vapors. The polyurethane film also performs as a barrier, not allowing the penetration of « Dust Mites » The barrier will assist in cutting off the manifestation of the mites, however, it is not a complete solution to eliminating the challenge of « Dust Mites » (Please refer to our Zip & Block Anti-Allergen products for all the necessary information).
